This new elementary school has quite the Pop! of color sprinkled throughout the site with vibrant yellows mixed in with metallic silvers, whites & blacks, all bringing unique accents to the different wings of the building. We teamed up with local contractor Bayley Construction to deliver this project to the expanding Mercer Island School District. The unique geometry of the site, as well as overall modern design lead to several architecture awards, including the AIA Honor Award of 2016. The numerous green roofs set out from the upper level glazing systems provided a seamless transition between built and living environment and made you feel truly connected to the outdoors. This marked the start to several projects we completed on Mercer Island in the subsequent years, allowing us to develop a relationship with the community for the foreseeable future. GO OWLS!
