What 3-D Modeling Services does Mission Glass provide?

Modeling in the glazing industry refers to use of 3-dimensional software, scanners and digital media to create an accurate simulation of a real-world environment. Modeling is typically used in large scale project to discover clashes in building elements, or on a small scale to visualize intricate details that are difficult to accurately depict in a 2-dimensional drawing.

From early project inception all the way through field-verification of structure, Mission Glass strives to integrate modeling into every process that falls under our umbrella of work. Early modeling helps foresee potential bottlenecks and site issues, and 3-dimensional scanning allows precise verification of as-built structures to ensure all architectural elements will fit prior to them arriving on site.

Our Process

Early concept models with limited detail are created to determine the massing and scale of different window components. As the design is refined, more intricate details are incorporated to vet out the constructability of many of the unique features in any design.

Individual parts are modeled and can be sent directly to our automated machining centers to reduce errors and rapidly increase production and precision. Crating diagrams and loading schematics are also modeled to plan out site deliveries and streamline logistics in the field.

Mission Glass Quality

Our integration of modeling techniques into our process allows realistic representations of actual conditions prior to any construction occurring, which cuts down on installation time and allows complex geometry to be predetermined well before any tools are put into action. This results in cost and material savings due to a more efficient project schedule with fewer delays and unforeseen variables.

Mission Glass provides 3-D modeling services for projects all over the Greater Seattle and Portland areas. Review our project galleries to see how we can help you.
