Mission Glass was chosen to be the select glazing contractor for Mortenson Construction to deliver the University Y Student Center in downtown Tacoma. This project was provided to the University of Washington (Tacoma Campus) and the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties. The project is located on the corner of South 17th Street and Market Street, enclosing three floors and over 70,000 square feet of community space.

The facility includes a two-story gymnasium below an elevated running track, an assembly room as well as enclosed spaces to accommodate student government and activities, lounges and multi-purpose rooms. Mission Glass was able to provide design assistance and coordination to allow for vast expanses of curtain wall systems that allowed a large amount of daylight to enter into the building and enhance the overall indoor environmental quality. Mission Glass and Mortenson were, once again, able to team up and deliver a successful project just in time to open for the 2015 new year.
